That decision costs roughly 15 to 20% more engineering time up front. It is the single most important technical choice in the pillar. Skipping it turns a platform into a bespoke site with an expensive rebuild waiting behind it.
The test we apply to every piece of work is simple. Would the second jeweller need this rebuilt, reconfigured, or not at all? Only reconfigured belongs in the platform.
